Dunja Lugaric is PA to the CEO of Ireland’s leading experience marketing agency, Modern Green. Hailing from Zagreb, Croatia, she left her native country at 18 to follow her dream of living abroad. First stop was Austria where she graduated with a bachelors degree in Business Consultancy, followed by spending the last 4 years living in Dublin.

Her interest in fashion from an early age lead Dunja to set up a street style fashion blog Style Dissection. She hopes to inspire people and to show them that style can be found anywhere and that it all comes down to attitude and having confidence in yourself.

Because I am a Girl I ask… for every girl to feel loved and protected.

Because I am a Girl I believe… in the beauty of ones dream. As per Eleanor Roosevelt’s famous quote, “I dream big and for me failure is not an option.” I believe every girl can get what she wants and should not be discouraged by others questioning her decisions.

Because I am a Girl I hope…that my blog becomes a big success, to travel the world, to make a change, to help the sweet little girl I sponsor, to inspire or just to make someone smile.

Because I am a Girl I wonder…about the most obscure things in life. For example, what did the photographer want to capture when I go to exhibitions or see a photo in the papers. If their face is happy or sad; what is going through their mind the moment the photograph was taken. They don’t say ‘a picture is worth a thousand words’ for nothing.

Because I am a Girl I dream…for every man to live for one day as a woman. To experience what we go through in a day and what challenges we encounter on a daily basis.

Because I am a Girl I remember…how frightened I was leaving home to go and study in Austria. My Mum sat me down and gave me one lesson each day for two weeks on how to cook, clean and iron. She made me feel like I can conquer the world if I want to and if I ever feel frightened she is here to give me shelter. I wish for every girl to have a mother like this.

Because I am a Girl I like…to eat chocolate everyday, dance barefoot to my favorite song and laugh a lot. It keeps the little hippie girl in me alive and gives me the feeling of happiness.

Because I am a Girl I dislike…when women showing their emotional side is considered a sign of weakness.

Because I am a Girl I feel…blessed to have a strong support around me - my girlfriends and my family. Without them I wouldn’t be able to discuss issues only girls can understand and relate to. They lift me up when I’m down and bring me back to reality when I get confused over what’s wrong and what’s right.

Because I am a Girl I…will never stop helping others in need and looking for new opportunities to see how can I make a change.
