Alex Donald has been a DJ for many years playing in clubs, bars and festivals across Ireland, in addition to numerous gigs in London and even a stint in Dubai.

Alex also runs the blog Alex Donald’s Multiverse, which has been in existence for almost two years and covers a multitude of subjects including fashion, film and literature.  The Multiverse was nominated for a prestigious eircom Golden Spider award after less than a year in existence.

Alex is currently hard at work writing her second novel which she hopes to get out to agents before the end of the year.

Because I am a Girl I ask…and expect that I will be treated as an equal.

Because I am a Girl I believe…that more women need to be admired and celebrated for their intellect, their sense of humour, their kindness, their talent, their business acumen, in short anything other than just the way they look.

Because I am a Girl I hope…that the next Irish winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature will be a woman.

Because I am a Girl I wonder…what it’s like to be a man.

Because I am a Girl I dream…of an unlimited shopping budget on Net-A-Porter!

Because I am a Girl I remember…that many women fought long and hard for my right to vote so I owe it to them to exercise that right.

Because I am a Girl I like…the fact that how I look when I wake up in the morning can always be improved upon. Forget diamonds, make-up is a girl’s best friend!

Because I am a Girl I dislike…when women say they aren’t feminists, yet enjoy all the advantages that feminism has given them.

Because I am a Girl I feel…lucky that I can make my own choices, create my own life and not have to answer to anyone.

Because I am a Girl I…wish that young girls could remain innocent for longer. Childhood is precious and so many girls are in such a hurry to get it over with!
