MALALA DAY 2013
On 12 July Malala Yousafzai, who was shot by the Taliban for campaigning for girls’ education turns 16. Malala has backed Plan’s “Raise your Hand” for girls’ education initiative. Do the same and “Raise your Hand” too.
To celebrate her birthday we are asking you to join our campaign to empower girls in the developing world through education.
TAKE ACTION: Join Malala and Raise Your Hand
In classrooms around the world, children raise their hand if they want to be heard. It is a symbol for education and the empowerment that comes with it.
We are asking you to ‘Raise Your Hand’ in support of girls’ education. With just a couple of clicks, you can support our efforts to ensure that quality education for girls is brought to the centre of the global agenda. Help us reach one million - we’re half way there already!
If you believe every girl deserves an education, click HERE to Raise Your Hand!
DONATE: Education Projects for Girls
Because I am a Girl raises money for projects that make a positive impact for girls around the world.
These projects tackle some of the biggest challenges that girls face in developing countries, like access to the basic human rights to an identity, education and protection. Over the next 4 years, Because I am a Girl projects will support 4 million girls to get the education, skills and support they need to move themselves from poverty to opportunity.
